Our London and Essex team recently held a CV Writing and Interview Skills Workshop to support young people with applying for jobs and apprenticeships.
A group of seven young people came to join us at 12:30, and we all enjoyed a tasty lunch of pizza and salad, while we got to know each other. It was a great opportunity for them to meet, talk and engage with one another before the start of the event around 1:00 pm.
This event was specific for our young people who are aged 15 and over, and was intended to prepare them for independence and give them support with writing their CV and preparing them for interviews. We also invited a few people from a company called Seetec, which is government-funded and offers great opportunities for apprenticeships for young people aged between 16 and 24.
All of our young people who attended made a contact with Seetec and will be contacted as soon as they are 16 (through our SSW’s) to discuss what opportunities may be available for them. The young people were proactive in participating and showed great interest in the subject. It was a very successful event; supporting them on their journey to independence and contributing to society.
