Excellent support for foster families

Our Bracknell Forest training centre is a vibrant hub of activity, with local foster parents coming together to meet, learn and form lasting friendships.

We host regular in-person training opportunities, where you can master new skills and broaden your knowledge to provide excellent quality care to your children.

You'll also benefit from regular online support groups, including smaller groups designed specifically for those new to fostering. At these sessions, you can share and listen to different experiences, meet other families, and get advice from foster parents who have with the challenges which may arise while fostering.

Support for children who foster

We know that when parents foster, so do their children; this is why we have worked hard to create a support package for birth children in foster families, so they never feel excluded. Our tailored support for children who foster includes:

  • Children’s support groups - Our children’s support groups provide children who foster with a safe space to discuss their experiences with children from similar family setups
  • Children’s helpline - Our children's helpline is available for both children who foster and children in care
  • Family support workers – our family support workers spend time getting to know the whole family, ensuring each family member feels safe, valued and supported
  • Children's resources - we have created resources to help children and grandchildren understand and prepare for fostering
  • Events for the whole family – we hold events and activities for every family member to enjoy throughout the year
