One of our core principles is ensuring that your children or grandchildren never feel left out while your family fosters, and that their needs are catered for in the same way that the needs of the children you’ll be welcoming into your home— with kindness, understanding and a personalised touch.

Why foster in Nottingham with Orange Grove?

Why do children need foster parents?

Children come into foster care for a wide variety of reasons. This could be that their caregivers are seriously ill or have sadly passed away. Other times it’s because they couldn't provide the level of care a child needs, perhaps because of a mental health condition, or a family crisis. Many children also come from homes which have been unsafe for them, where they may have experienced abuse or neglect.

Children who are looked after need patience, love and tailored care to thrive and achieve their best outcomes. Your role as a foster parent is invaluable, as you’ll be a pillar of safety and support for children as they work through their trauma and grow into healthy, well-supported adults.

When you join us, we’ll provide you with all the training you need to support children to reach these goals. You’ll have the option to attend face-to-face expert training at your local training centre in Long Eaton, as well as the option to complete training online— we’ll support you in whatever suits your schedule.
