Who can foster?

When it comes to foster parents, we’re not looking for perfection— we’re looking for people with plenty of love and care to give, who are responsible, adaptable and passionate about helping to improve the lives of young people who have faced difficult early experiences.

Everyone over the age of 21 who has a spare room and the right to live and work in the UK is welcome to apply to foster. Children who are waiting for loving homes come from a diverse variety of backgrounds, and we want that to be reflected and celebrated in the people who take care of them.

Bournemouth fostering allowance

As a foster parent, you’ll receive a fostering allowance to reward you for all of your hard work in being a foundation of support to the children in your care. Our fostering allowance is competitive and goes above and beyond what is offered by most local authorities.

Our foster parent training is informed by the latest research in child development and trauma, and is available both in-person at our Southern Counties office or online through classroom and e-learning courses. Designed to fit around your schedule, our wide range of additional training is tailored to the unique needs of the children in your care.
